Maju
Junction joins the many existing malls and shopping centers around
the Klang Valley, Located at the junction of Jalan Sultan Ismail
and Tuanku Abdul Rahman in Kuala Lumpur, this five level shopping
mall is only a five-minute walk away from the Bandaraya LRT and
the newly completed PRT Wawasan Station along Jalan Sultan Ismail
as well as busses and taxis. In addition, for those driving their
own vehicle, there are 1,400 parking bays available. However, be
warned that getting to the parking bays require skillful maneuvering
of your vehicle through the narrow and tight spiral ramps. Pity
those with big vehicles!

Within the mall itself,
there are over 60 lifestyle, convenience and specialty stores as well
as Pesona, a food court as big as the Scotts Picnic Food Court in Suria
KLCC. In addition to the Pesona Food Court on the third floor which actually
offers an outdoor section for smokers (yes!), Maju Junction also serves
up the slew of fast food chains like Kentucky Fried Chicken and not forgetting
café chains like Starbucks for your upmarket caffeine fix.
With a full belly
and hydrated, it is time for a stroll through the many stores Maju Junction
has to offer. While there are no high-end haute couture shops such as
those in Suria KLCC to be spotted here, what this mall has to offer is
targeted more for the fashion conscious on a budget: akin to 1 Utama with
an urban ambience. Tenants here include British India, Levi's/Dockers,
Charles Jourdan Esprit, Belle, BP Boy Apparels for fashion; England Optical
and Metro Eyewear for optical wear; Memory Lane and Lovely Lace for gifts;
Axxezz and Chamelon (check spelling?) for fashion accessories; Guess Kids,
Bebe's Home and Poney for children's fashion; Renoma, Hush Puppies Shoes,
B.Boss and MXtoo boutique for leather goods and shoes; and many more.
| The
anchor tenants for Maju Junction are Tops, A project by British India,
F.O.S and Pesona Food Court. Interestingly there are no major department
stores to be found here. Nevertheless, the smaller retail outlets
make up for it. And while you are browsing through the shops, rest
assured that you and your vehicle are well looked after as in addition
to the uniformed and plain-clothed security personnel making their
rounds, the mall is also outfitted with CCTV surveillance throughout
to deter thefts and other undesirable problems. For the safety of
your precious vehicle, Maju Junction is equipped with a car plate
number-imaging system to prevent cars being stolen. |

Another difference
to note of this new mall, which had its soft opening on July 3, 2002,
is its full-fledge concierge service, located at the information counter
on the ground floor, which is said to offer services of that similar to
a five-star hotel! Here, you can ask more than the normal questions regarding
to the mall and tourist and travel related queries. The concierge will
be more than happy to call a cab, make restaurant reservations or even
make F1 ticket bookings for you! Nifty, yeah?
